Hampshire’s Local Offer for Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities

Your Local Offer – Information and services available in Hampshire for children and young people (birth to 25) who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)
The Local Offer includes information about education, health, social care, preparation for adulthood, leisure services and impartial information advice and support.

Hampshire’s Local Offer (co-produced with parents, carers and young people) aims to help you find your way through the maze of information to reach the best solutions for you / your child.

 

Hampshire Healthy Families was launched in 2020 as a partnership between the Trust and Barnardos. The service is commissioned to support families, parents and carers of children aged from 0-19 years old and to deliver the Healthy Child Programme across Hampshire. This is done by providing access to Health Visitors and School Nurses as well as other services and regular courses to help support child development.

 

Sendiass

Impartial Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support in Hampshire.

Hampshire Specialist Parenting Support Service: Provides parenting programmes for parents/carers who have children aged 5-7.

Basingstoke Young Carers: Founded as a project in 2009, later formed as a Charity in 2019.  Basingstoke & District Young Carers aims to better identify and provide support for young carers and their families to develop emotionally and physically, as well as being able to take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement.

CAMHS

NHS CAMHS  work together as a team to help young people and their families. Every clinician (someone who sees and treats patients) who works at CAMHS is able to provide high quality assessments and treatments (called ‘interventions’). Sometimes young people benefit from seeing a number of different clinicians or clinicians with specialist skills and training. You or your family may have a preference about who you see and what type of help and support you would like to access.

 

Mind: Provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

PSL

 

Parent Support Link: Provide support for those affected by someone else’s drug and/or alcohol use.
We found that there was plenty of support for those living with addiction. There was less specific help for the family and friends of those affected by someone else’s drug and/or alcohol use.

Parent Support Link aims to provide a 24-hour service to callers seeking either Information about illegal substances and their effects, or as a listening ear to people who find themselves affected by another persons drink or drug use.

NAS

National Autistic Society: We are the UK’s leading charity for people on the autism spectrum and their families. Since 1962, we have been providing support, guidance and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services and opportunities to help create a society that works for autistic people.

Young Minds

Young Minds is the UK’s leading charity championing the well-being and mental health of young people.  The charity is supported by the National Lottery and the website has advice for parents on how they can help their children.

YPi

YPI Counselling

Supporting hundreds of young people, parents and professionals each year, YPI is the leading youth counselling charity in Basingstoke. We provide Mental Health and emotional support to young people aged 11 to 25 years old and parents of all ages through a range of interventions including 1-to-1 counselling sessions, group work and psycho-educational activities. We pride ourselves on being a locally run charity with a strong community focus.

Chat Health

ChatHealth is a confidential text messaging service that enables children and young people (aged 11-19) to contact their local public health nursing (school nursing) team. You can get in touch for advice about any aspect of your physical or emotional health.
